It has been stated that the Somali people who live in Minnesota of America are ready to participate in development and investment activities in the region.

Jigjiga: July 23/2015 (EZA):- The head of the regional cabinet affairs and head of the state Dr. Hussein Hashi announced that the Somali region who are living in Minnesota of America are ready to participate in development and investment activities in the region.

Dr. Hussein stated that a delegation led by the regional vice president Mr. Ibrahim Usman including the regional and federal high officials have discussed with the region’s native diasporas living in Minnesota about national and regional issues.

According to the official, the natives of the region who participated in the discussion have confirmed that they are ready to participate in development and investment projects in the region.

Following the peace found in the region after the change in the country, briefings have been made to the diasporas on infrastructure, investment and developmental projects implemented in different sectors.

63 woredas and kebeles have received 24 hours electricity in the region in the past five years. Rural areas with clean water problems have more than 150 water projects and eight dams have been built and benefited the community.

It has been clarified that the region has reached 18 in a short period of time and the agricultural sector has doubled.

In the investment sector, many investors of the region are using the investment options in the region to invest in real estate, flour factories, animal slaughter, bottled water factories and hotels. Dr. Hussein explained that the delegation.

The official indicated that the region’s native diasporas who participated in the discussion have gained an understanding of the existing situation in the region.

Dr. Hussein explained that he has expressed his appreciation for the changes that have been done in the country and the region and the developmental works that are being done.

The questions raised by the participants of the discussion were answered and explained by the deputy president of the region Mr. Ibrahim has stated that they have realized that there is a secure peace in their country and region and to contribute to the development of their country.

Also said that the region’s native diasporas have used the wide investment options in the region to invest in areas of development that benefit themselves and their people.

Members of the region’s native diaspora who participated in the discussion said they are ready to do their part in rehabilitation of people affected by the fire accident that broke out in Jigjiga city mall.

The delegates have also confirmed that they are ready to participate in the development and investment activities in the region and contribute to the development, growth and prosperity of their country.
